So, you're all done with today's workout and you've just hit the showers. What did you bring to clean your head and scalp? You weren't just going to grab a bar of soap, right?

Did you know that bar soap contains ingredients that are specifically included to remove oils from your hands and body? Those ingredients will only add to the damage that is already occurring with the excess of DHT in your system. Hair will dry out, and the residue left on the hair doesn't rinse off very well, making your hair look dull and lifeless.

Did you know that if you wet your hair before swimming, you can prevent chlorine from soaking into the hair? And after swimming, you should wash and condition your hair immediately.

Hair is most fragile when it's wet, so avoid brushing and combing when it's wet. Wait until hair is almost completely dry before brushing. If that isn't possible, use a brush made from natural animal hair. It is softer and more flexible which means less damage will be done to your hair.

Wash with warm water only. Hot water can dry and irritate the scalp.

Go easy when rubbing your hair during shampooing and conditioning. Remember, hair is most vulnerable when wet.
